GlobePrism is free to read. We pay for our journalism with advertising. This page explains how ads work on our site and how we keep them separate from our reporting.

Who serves the ads

We use Google AdSense, a service of Google LLC, to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We may work with other advertising partners in future and will update this page and our Privacy Policy if we do.

How ads are labelled and placed

  • Ads are labelled “Advertisement” and are visually separate from our stories.
  • We do not run ads that imitate our articles, buttons or navigation, and we do not place ads in a way designed to trick you into clicking.
  • We do not show ads on our policy, contact or error pages.
  • We do not use pop-ups or interstitials that cover the content you came to read.

Editorial independence

Advertisers cannot see stories before they are published, cannot pay to change or remove a story, and cannot buy positive coverage. Our editors decide what to cover based on what matters to readers. If we ever publish sponsored or partner content, it will be clearly labelled as such and kept apart from our news reporting.

If a story contains affiliate links, meaning links for which we may earn a commission when you buy something, we will state that clearly in the story. Affiliate relationships never influence what we recommend.
