Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information GlobePrism (“we”, “us”, “our”), published by GlobePrism, collects when you visit https://globeprism.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. 1. The short version

• You do not need an account to use GlobePrism. We do not ask you to register.
• We collect only limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.
• Your settings and saved stories are stored on your own device and are not sent to us.
• We show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your interests. You can control this.
• We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

2. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our servers record technical information about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the pages requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. We use this for security, to keep the site running, to prevent abuse, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used.

Information you give us

If you contact us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to respond to you and to improve our service, and we keep it for as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations.

Information stored on your device

Features such as dark mode, text size, saved stories and your cookie choice are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. This information is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for the exact items.

3. Cookies, advertising and analytics

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies and similar technologies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Analytics

We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand which stories are read and how visitors move around the site. These tools use cookies or similar identifiers and collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. We use the information in aggregate to improve GlobePrism. Where required by law, analytics cookies are only set after you consent.

Embedded and third-party content

Some pages may include content from other services, for example a YouTube video. We use the privacy-enhanced YouTube mode and load the video only after you click play. Share buttons are plain links: no social network receives information about your visit unless you click one.

4. Why we use your information (legal bases)

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we process personal data on these bases: legitimate interests (running, securing and improving the site, and measuring audience in aggregate); consent (personalised advertising and analytics cookies where the law requires it, which you can withdraw at any time); contract or steps at your request (replying to your messages); and legal obligation (where the law requires us to keep or disclose information).

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us run the site, such as web hosting, content delivery and image delivery networks and email services, who may process data only on our instructions.
• Advertising and analytics partners, such as Google, as described above.
• Authorities or other parties where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of GlobePrism, our readers or others.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. How long we keep information

We keep server log data for a limited period needed for security and operations, and messages you send us for as long as needed to handle your request. Data held by Google and other third parties is governed by their own retention policies.

You can use GlobePrism without giving us personal information, decline non-essential cookies, clear locally stored data in your browser, and contact us with any privacy question.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California and other US states

Residents of California and certain other US states may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by our ad partners may count as “sharing” under some state laws; you can opt out using the “Privacy choices” link in the footer, Google Ads Settings or your browser's Global Privacy Control setting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's privacy

GlobePrism is a general-audience news site and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use HTTPS encryption and reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Links to other websites

Our stories link to external websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
