Manchester City visit RB Leipzig on Wednesday with the Champions League league phase halfway gone by the final whistle.
The match is one of the 8pm GMT kick-offs on Wednesday 4 November 2026. CBS Sports writers framed the night around the midpoint.
By Wednesday night, the UEFA Champions League league phase will be halfway over, leaving four games for each team to aim to cement their spot in the knockout stages.
City arrive with a reshuffled side
City come to Germany after losing 1-0 at home to Brighton at the weekend. Enzo Maresca has made five changes to the team he picked for that match.
Phil Foden comes in for Jérémy Doku.
The two starting line-ups
Manchester City
Starting XI in Leipzig
- Goalkeeper: Donnarumma
- Defence: Nunes, Khusanov, Guéhi, O'Reilly
- Midfield: Anderson, Fernández
- Attack: Ndiaye, Cherki, Foden
- Striker: Haaland
RB Leipzig
Starting XI
- Goalkeeper: Vandevoordt
- Defence: Baku, Orban, Lukeba, Raum
- Midfield: Banzuzo, El Aynaoui, Baumgartner
- Attack: Gruda, Nusa, Rômulo
At left-back, City start Nico O'Reilly. England boss Thomas Tuchel favours him in that position, but Newcastle's Lewis Hall is putting him under pressure.
Foden's goals this season have come in a cluster. Three of his four in all competitions came in one Champions League match against AEK Athens last month.
A CBS Sports expert, Pardeep Cattry, said Maresca's side are still a work in progress, while Leipzig are struggling.
RB Leipzig have started the season in a rough patch, which makes a meeting against Manchester City very untimely for them.
Haaland and Nusa carry the numbers
Erling Haaland has scored four goals in the two Champions League matches he's played this season. He didn't play against AEK Athens.
Against Brighton at the weekend, he failed to score. That ended a seven-match scoring streak in Premier League play.
A CBS Sports expert, Francesco Porzio, picked Haaland as man of the match. Before moving to City, Haaland had already met Leipzig several times during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
This is one of those games when the Norwegian striker delivers.
Charles Booth of CBS Sports made Haaland to score first at +290 his best bet.
For Leipzig, attention falls on 21-year-old Antonio Nusa. A CBS Sports expert, James Benge, named him the player to watch.
With six assists and four goals in the Bundesliga this season, the 21-year-old Nusa has the look of a player who may be establishing himself as one of Europe's best young attackers.
Benge said Nusa will face Matheus Nunes and the rest of City's defence.
Both previews expect a City win
Cattry predicted RB Leipzig 0, Manchester City 3. The Guardian's live blog said City and Arsenal, away at Slavia Prague, were both expected to win and win well.
The Guardian said the Swiss-model league phase has been an entertaining spectacle. Bigger teams are facing each other more often, with lots of goals this season.
CBS Sports described Matchday 3 as wild and goal-filled. It expects Matchday 4 to be even more exciting, as numerous smaller clubs try to challenge Europe's giants.
On Tuesday night, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain scored nine goals between them.
