Xreal Aura Android XR Glasses Available for Pre-Order Starting at $1,279

Xreal has opened pre-orders for its Aura Android XR glasses in four markets, starting at $1,279.

The launch makes Xreal's first Android XR glasses available first to reservation holders in the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea.

Buyers must choose between two memory and storage configurations.

Aura has an Optical See-Through display with a 70-degree field of view. Two Sony Micro-OLED panels provide 1920x1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The transparent displays let users see the real world, while electrochromic dimming can limit the view to what is on the screen. The glasses run Android XR with Google's Gemini built-in and use Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite chip.

Aura is tethered to a separate puck that houses its 4,455 mAh battery, computing hardware and controls. The puck also includes a built-in trackpad and fingerprint sensor for navigation.

Xreal suggests carrying the puck on a lanyard or clipping it to clothes or other belongings. The glasses can also connect to a computer for use as an external monitor.

XREAL said the initial delivery wave will arrive "before the holidays," but it has not supplied an exact date, and described a second wave as presumably arriving sometime in early 2027.

The lower-priced configuration sits below XREAL's earlier promise of "under $1,500." The higher-priced tier doubles storage and increases memory, giving buyers more capacity at a higher entry cost.

Both versions depend on the puck, although the glasses can also function as a computer-connected external monitor.

Xreal has said more regions will get the pre-order option soon and that it plans to release the model to more markets in 2027.

The specific regions that could receive the pre-order option soon are not stated. The exact date for the 2027 release is also not supplied.
