South Park aired previously unseen Grand Theft Auto VI footage Wednesday night, showing dog-poop combat and crowded Vice City beaches as Rockstar Games intensifies marketing before November release.
Titled Guinea Pig On A Stick, the latest South Park episode aired on Wednesday on Comedy Central and included gameplay footage provided by Rockstar Games. The credits read: "Grand Theft Auto VI footage courtesy of Rockstar Games, Inc."
At a local cattle ranch, South Park's main characters visit to see a preview of the game. A woman presents the footage to Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Randy Marsh and Butters' father Steven Stoch.
Look at that, the graphics are seriously next-level. It's a dog, taking a poop. And people can pick up the dog poop! You can throw things at the person with dog poop. And if they choose to fight back, you can pick up the dog poop, and actually attack them with the dog poop. That... is what's coming in November.
The gameplay shows a dog defecating on a crowded Vice City beach, an NPC dog walker picking up the poop, and Jason attacking the NPC with it, which explodes in their face. Tish Hicks voices the woman. She narrated the GTA 5 gameplay trailer.
IGN describes the segment as just shy of 20 seconds of genuine, exclusive gameplay. Eurogamer said the episode was available to its staff, who confirmed the footage is authentic.
Record NPC density and visual detail
TheGamer said the clip offers the clearest view yet of GTA 6's increased NPC density, with more people on the beach than in any other recent official GTA 6 gameplay. The Vice City shoreline is crowded with NPCs of varied physiques, putting pressure on Xbox and PS5 CPUs, it also said. Some people respond to Jason's violence or gentler contact with dialogue.
Dynamic footprints on the sand are among the impressive details. Rockstar had already confirmed the dog poop mechanic before this clip aired.
GTA 6 as political metaphor throughout the season
This season, South Park was officially renamed South America to mock US president Donald Trump. GTA 6 has recurred throughout the show's most recent season, with characters repeatedly saying everything will be better in November when the game comes out.
The show's latest season has repeatedly taken aim at the US president. Earlier this month, an episode depicted a live-action deep-faked Trump using the toilet and talking to his own penis.
And everyone's freaking out because we have to choose who will be in charge when we're all dealing with something that we are not prepared for!

South Park's history with video game integration
South Park has previously used actual video game footage in its animation, as in an early, fan-favourite episode built around the PC game World of Warcraft. Red Dead Redemption 2 was at the heart of South Park episodes Time to Get Cereal and Nobody Got Cereal?.
What comes next
GTA 6 launches in November 2026. Recent GTA 6 news, Eurogamer notes, includes talk of a PC release in Q1 2027, the PS5 game's massive file size, and Rockstar workers voting to unionise over the release window.
